RVG

Long-time favourites of GRAIN, we're excited to have Naarm post-rock outfit RVG heading up our only SILO for 2023. As they prepare to be one of the country's biggest and best exports, jetting off merely hours after this set to play across the UK - this is your chance to see RVG before they sell out theatres across the globe.

With their first two records being Australian mainstays as our generation's answer to the Skyhooks, their third record 'Brain Worms' is already one of the more daring and direct offerings the band has offered up yet. An album rooted in themes of change and rot, the sounds are BIG and punching through in their sonically densest and heaviest tracks yet. Romy Vager and co put it best when they said that this is sure to be their quintessential piece... “If we could only make one more album, it would be this one.”

RINSE

RINSE is the solo project of the prolific Naarm/Melbourne-via-Meanjin/Brisbane artist Joe Agius - known also for performing, co-writing and producing with much loved Australian act Hatchie and of course as the frontman for gone but not forgotten faves The Creases. Showing another side of Agius' repertoire in meticulously written pop songs dressed with shoegaze guitars and 80s drums, RINSE has been likened to the golden era of The Cure, My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins. We've long-loved anything Joe has put his fingers to and this is no exception.

PLACEMENT

Formed by a group of creatives from Kaurna Yerta/South Australia, Placement are a noise rock band utilising their own secret tunings in the key of winter and summer. They have spent the last few years honing their sound, playing across the East & South coasts of Australia, and have quickly built a reputation for their ferocious live performance. Maybe you caught them when we featured them on our 6th Birthday lineup, sharing DNA with our other ADL mates The Empty Threats - this is a return for noise via clarinet like no one has ever heard.

SAMMM.

Forthright and uninhibited - with just the right balance of vigor and angst scattered throughout their slacker punk-rock sound. We've been watching SAMMM. for years and now we're excited to welcome him to SILO.

With a love for brutally authentic lyrics and an infectious stage energy, a loyal fan base in Meanjin/Brisbane has seen SAMMM. appear at Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Yonder Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and join bills with the likes of WAAX, Regurgitor, STUMPS, RVG and more. Known for his ability to dig deep, SAMMM.’s songwriting touches on taboo struggles with addiction, experience with homelessness, and the difficult road of recovery.
