Brisbane's longest running (and best) live music club night returns for it's 18th edition. Featuring our first return SILO headliners, we're welcoming Body Type back to SILO, alongside favourites Girl and Girl, Jade Imagine, Jess Locke, Naaki Soul & PRINK.
Tickets are only $15+BF and are on sale HERE.
BODY TYPE
We're stoked too bring our friends Body Type back to Brisbane/Meanjin for another run at SILO 5 years after their first outing back when we called The Foundry home (R.I.P)...
Live, Body Type exceed the expectations set by their singles. All four members – Sophie & Annabel on vocals and guitar, Cecil on drums, Georgia on vocals & bass – are vital. They are, on a musical and emotional level, inexorably linked, each member’s importance going beyond musical skill or personality. Their latest record Expired Candy is one of the best examples of the power these four have together.
JADE IMAGINE
"The last time we got an album from Jade Imagine, it was stocked with snappy, wry indie rock not so far away from Courtney Barnett, whose Milk Records label releases the Melbourne quartet’s output. But three years (and one pandemic) on, Jade McInally’s namesake band has grown noticeably more subtle and introspective – a mindset that perhaps echoes many months of lockdown." - NME
We're excited to be welcoming the wonderful Jade Imagine up to SILO for a preview of what's to come on their next release, alongside tastes of their most recent release 2022's Cold Memory. We're in for a set of starry synths, dazed choruses.
JESS LOCKE
It wouldn't be a GRAIN event if someone didn't mention our Naarm-based mate Jess Locke. Known for penning indie pop tracks that are at times subtle and full of melancholy, at times delivered with an acerbic tongue, but always steeped heavily in narrative. With an album penciled in for later this year, we're excited to hear what J.L. has on offer for us!
NAAKI SOUL
Brisbane/Meanjin-based midwest emo/noise pop artist Naaki Soul is makinig waves in the DIY scene up and down the East Coast and overseas - and only with the first step in their musical journey. The punk ethos and a penchant for hand-crafted abrasiveness is a unique take on the sounds they list as influences. You may have been lucky enough to catch them opening for the Grain presented Brisbane/Meanjin leg for UK legends Sorry late last year... Check out a taste of the live offerings they're prepping below.
PRINK
Meet PRINK. Destroying the patriarchy with their categorical lyrics and punchy riffs. What started as a passion pop fuelled pipe dream PRINK are a synth driven punk act you do not want to miss as their energy opens up this SILO.
