DUST

Fuck this band is good. Newcastle post-punk quintet dust are fast cementing their status as one of the country’s most singular and essential bands. Urgent, mesmeric, and arresting both on and off the stage, the collective have wasted no time in ensuring that their music and message reaches as far as it possibly can.

Forming against the backdrop of COVID in May 2020, the group gathered whenever they could to hone their craft, performing at every possible chance as they sharpened their sprawling yet intricate sound.

Offering a contemporary take on Australian post-punk, along with elements of experimental jazz and electronic music, dust have curated a sound that is as dark, introspective, and angular as it is powerful and progressive. Together, they’re set to provide Australian music with the sort of powerful jolt that will reverberate for years to come. Just listen to this song and tell us we're lying.

COLDWAVE

Blending a buzz-saw twin guitar attack, booming horns, uncompromising vocals and a high-octane live set, Coldwave have asserted themselves in Adelaide’s music community over the last three years. We've hosted them in Brisbane/Meanjin at last year's Matesound and it well and truly blew the roof off of The Brightside.

For fans of Fontaines and Sonic Youth, get around this.

ARSE

ARSE is done screwing around… Kaputt. is the next phase of Australian insanity by ARSE, who's last recorded work came out in 2019, right before the world truly shat the proverbial bed. It’s all been leading up to this; a six-track blast on everything from climate denialism to crooked law enforcement that will excoriate your earholes and arseholes in 16 minutes of raw power. This is your chance to see the band rip it up, and Jonathan Boulet is the only motherfucker daring enough to use a metal chain as a bass guitar strap - trust us.

FAT DOG AND THE TITS

This city is in need of new noise-punks, and Fat Dog are the best of the new crop coming through. Too many members and some woodwind, some speed dealers and stupidly loud crashes -it's TISM tinged with a West End flavour. We're looking forward to you meeting Fat Dog and the aforementioned Tits.
